Postdoctoral position
Applications are invited for a post doctoral position at Centre for Star and Planet Formation at the Natural History Museum of Denmark, University of Copenhagen. The main focus of the research programme is centered on elucidating the timescales and processes leading to the formation of the solar system by measurement of isotopic variations in extraterrestrial materials. The candidate will join a growing group at the centre and be part of a collaborative network recently established between Centre for Star and Planet Formation and the Niels Bohr Institute at University of Copenhagen.
We seek a highly-motivated individual with a strong background in isotope geochemistry, preferably with experience in mass spectrometry and clean laboratory techniques, to join a dynamic research group and take full advantage of the state-of-the-art isotope facilities that the institution offers to pursue innovative research. These include newly-established thermal-ionization and multiple-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometers (Thermo Scientific Triton and Neptune) as well as ultra-clean laboratories. The appointment will be for up to two years with a possibility of extension pending performance, beginning June 1st, 2010. Information on the Departments is linked at www.science.ku.dk/institutter, additional information on the Centre's research program is linked at www.starplan.net.
How to apply
Non-Danish and Danish candidates who have lived abroad for an extended period of time before taking up a position, may be eligible for tax reductions. The positions carry the full benefits in terms of enrollment in the public Danish health care system. The University of Copenhagen wishes to reflect the surrounding society and encourage all qualified applicants regardless of personal background to apply for the positions.
The application should contain a curriculum vitae, a list of publications and a statement of research experience and plans.
Review of applications will start on March 15th and continue until the positions have been filled. Requests for further information as well as applications and reference letters should be sent per E-mail (preferred) or regular mail to:
